"From War to Wisdom: A Young Man's Dream to Educate a Country"

A rare opportunity to hear the remarkable story of one Lost Boy of Sudan, Lubo "James" Mijak, who, at age 18, was elected as a group leader in a refugee camp of 20,000 people. Now a graduate of UNC-Charlotte, Lubo is partnering with "Mothering Across Continents", a Carolinas-based non-profit with a vision of "Adopting Dreams. Raising Tomorrow's Leaders." in an effort to build schools in the remote country of his childhood. Join us for a special presentation, Q&A session, and photo exhibit, as Lubo shares lessons learned from his harrowing and inspiring journey.

"Love Story from Abroad"

Support The Greenville Symphony Orchestra and the International Center! The Greenville Symphony Orchestra presents Love Story from Abroad, featuring Maestro Francesco La Vecchia, at the Peace Center Concert Hall. Tickets for this performance are available for just $20 – but you must get a ticket vouchers from the ICU to get them at this wonderful price.
When purchasing your ticket with the ICU voucher, 50% of the ticket sale will benefit the ICU – this is a great opportunity to support two wonderful organizations in our community. To get vouchers, please call, email, or come by the ICU office between 9am and noon Monday through Friday. You do not have to be an ICU member to take advantage of this deal. The International Center of the Upstate (ICU) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cross-cultural understanding for individuals, businesses and the community in the Upstate of South Carolina.
